Commentary
We have already had several comments about Organic Moods by Gregory. It's fizzy drink approach makes this abstract different. It has geological or atmospheric drift: warm ochres and browns cascade downward like mineral deposits, resin, or weathered sediment.
while the pale veining creates a sense of erosion and slow organic movement. The result is tactile and alive, with the surface patterning giving it both a cellular and a landscape-like character.
What works especially well is the tension between control and accident. The drip trails and pitted marks suggest material processes in motion, but the overall balance of the composition is carefully held together by the strong luminosity at the top and the denser weight below. That tonal shift gives the work a clear vertical energy, almost like something being formed, dissolved, or revealed over time.
The title “Organic Moods” suits it well, the artist has provided little in the way of objectives or background to the submission so our comments are more to set the tone for your critiques.
